Overall Purpose
Lula is hiring a Commercial Credit Analyst. This is an ideal role for an individual starting their career in credit, or a recent graduate, to join our growing fintech business. Your primary focus will be managing our credit underwriting process, which requires strong analytical and financial capabilities while collaborating with internal stakeholders. You'll also get the opportunity to develop your skills by regularly liaising and dealing directly with our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Engaging with clients to verify their financial/credit transactions, business performance and request additional information where need be
- Evaluating clients’ credit data and financial data in order to determine the degree of risk involved in lending money to them
- Preparing notes about the degree of risk in lending money to clients
- Analysing client records and using the data to recommend outcomes
- Evaluating the financial status of clients by interpreting financial ratios produced by proprietary programs
- Helping supply chain and Sales and Marketing departments in managing financial orders to help them control credit exposure
- Understanding the lending platform in its entirety with special focus on the origination module
- Working hand-in-hand with the Head of Credit Underwriting and Credit Manager on any issue escalations, ensuring every customer problem is tracked, resolved, and followed up on properly.
- Proactively identify and formulate solutions designed to genuinely meet customer needs and strategically satisfy their expressed and underlying requirements.
- Keep up-to-date on technology developments and technical issues relevant to the portfolio and the financial services industry.
- Managing other key operational tasks linked to the monitoring of the portfolio on book on a regular basis
- Provide support on ad-hoc projects as directed by management to meet evolving business needs.
The Experience & Skills We’re Looking For
- BCom Degree (Finance, Accounting, Economics or equivalent field).
- Ideally you will have some commercial/SME credit experience
- You have strong numerical and analytical abilities
- Passionate about delivering customer experience above and beyond customer expectations
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Excellent influencing skills
- Demonstrate resilience and a positive approach when facing challenges.
