- Operational, Technology & Third Party Risk
– Run risk and control self-assessments, key risk indicators, and incident and loss event reporting across processing, switching and merchant services
– Provide independent challenge on information security and cybersecurity risk, including alignment with PCI DSS
– Monitor the risks of outsourced providers and agents, including card schemes, sponsor banks, and cloud and technology vendors
- Financial, Settlement & Fraud Risk
– Monitor settlement, liquidity and counterparty risk, including the safeguarding of customer funds
– Oversee the fraud risk framework and challenge fraud controls, loss trends and thresholds
– Set limits and escalation triggers, and monitor adherence to them
- Resilience & Change
– Provide independent oversight of business continuity planning and testing, and run documented stress tests across all risk types, including worst-case scenarios, for the Risk Committee
– Assess the risks of new products, services, markets and partners before launch
- Regulatory Engagement & Team
– Respond to CBE queries and inspections on risk matters, and track regulatory change affecting risk
– Build and lead the risk team with adequate resources, and train staff on risk and business continuity procedures
Required Skills and Experience:
– Degree in finance, economics, engineering or a related discipline. A professional risk qualification (FRM, PRM, CRISC or equivalent) is preferred
– At least 10 years in risk management, including 5 or more in payments, banking or fintech, with experience leading a risk function
– Strong working knowledge of payment systems, card schemes, and operational and technology risk
– Experience engaging with the CBE or a comparable regulator
– Fluent Arabic and English, written and spoken
– Meets the CBE fit and proper criteria (integrity, competence, sound financial standing and independence), and will complete the CBE nomination forms and any interview
– No conflicting executive or business role, and the time to give this one full attention
– The credibility to challenge senior management
Why join enza?
