Area Credit Manager – Emerging Markets
Role
Area Credit Manager in LAP is responsible for overseeing the credit underwriting for secured loan products, such as mortgages & Micro-LAP loans for the location.
Key Responsibilities
Business Ownership & Collaboration
Take full responsibility for business targets and delinquency management for the assigned location.
Work closely with sales teams, risk, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth and timely loan application processing.
Loan Evaluation & Approval
Analyze financial statements, credit reports, and collateral valuations to evaluate secured loan applications, including mortgages.
Approve loan applications within delegated authority while adhering to credit policies and risk guidelines.
Client Interaction & Communication
Conduct personal discussions with clients to assess creditworthiness and determine loan eligibility.
Maintain excellent verbal and written communication to effectively interact with clients and internal stakeholders.
Credit Documentation & Compliance
Prepare detailed Credit Appraisal Memos (CAM) documenting the rationale behind loan decisions.
Ensure strict compliance with internal credit policies, regulatory requirements, and risk management frameworks.
Attention to Detail
Meticulously review all loan application documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Identify and address any inconsistencies or policy deviations before loan approval.
Qualification & Experience
Educational Background
Qualified CA or MBA in Finance (or related field) with specialization in loan underwriting.
Fresher CAs and MBAs from reputed colleges may also be considered.
Experience Requirements
Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in credit underwriting, preferably in secured lending or mortgage sectors.
Additional Requirements
Willingness to travel as part of job responsibilities.
Strong analytical, decision-making, and communication skills.

Individual contributor role responsible for end-to-end credit underwriting and appraisal.
