The opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Marketplace Analyst to join our team and play a critical role in driving the performance and growth of our Mercado Libre business. This position goes beyond operational management, we are looking for someone who can deeply understand the business through data, translate insights into clear strategies, and execute action plans that deliver measurable impact. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical thinking, business judgment, and execution capability, with a passion for continuous improvement, data tools, and new technologies such as AI.

You will have end-to-end ownership of marketplace performance, working closely with internal teams and marketplace stakeholders to unlock growth opportunities and optimize results.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end performance of the Mercado Libre store, ensuring sales growth, healthy margins, and strong operational execution.
  • Manage day-to-day marketplace operations, including assortment, listings, pricing, promotions, and account health.
  • Perform deep-dive analyses on sales, margins, product performance and pricing strategy to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Translate data insights into clear action plans, execute them, and track KPIs to ensure results are delivered.
  • Identify growth levers across assortment, pricing, campaigns, visibility, and operational improvements.
  • Monitor key business metrics such as revenue, contribution margin, conversion, traffic, availability, reputation, and operational KPIs.
  • Proactively anticipate challenges, identify root causes, and implement solutions with speed and ownership.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with commercial, operations, supply chain, marketing, and finance teams to drive execution.
  • Maintain strong relationships with Marketplace Account Managers (KAMs), aligning on strategy, opportunities, and performance initiatives.
  • Leverage data tools, dashboards, and emerging technologies (including AI) to improve decision-making and efficiency.
  • Continuously propose process improvements and automation opportunities to scale the business.

What experience will help you in this role?

  • +2 years of experience in similar roles related to marketplaces, e-commerce, or commercial roles with strong analytical exposure.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to convert complex data into actionable business decisions.
  • Proven ability to build and execute action plans and drive measurable performance improvements.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets; experience with BI tools (Tableau, Metabase, Power BI, Looker, etc.) is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with SQL or willingness to learn is highly desirable.
  • Interest or experience in using data tools, automation, or AI to enhance productivity and decision-making.
  • Solid understanding of marketplace or e-commerce KPIs (sales, margins, conversion, pricing, promotions, operational metrics).
  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Clear and effective communication skills to work with account managers, internal teams, and stakeholders.
  • High level of ownership, proactivity, and results-oriented mindset, and ability to perform in a dynamic and changing environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Data Analytics, or related fields.
