The Company

nocnoc is the leading e-commerce platform for global brands and retailers entering Latin America. We connect +500M online customers across 15+ marketplaces through one unified platform. We're committed to connecting Latin America with the world through e-commerce. IT is established with a solid team and structure — now it needs someone to take it to the next level.

The Role

We need a VP of Engineering who operates as a peer to our VP of Product. IT and Product must work as equals. You'll own:

  • Strategic alignment — keeping effort focused on real business bets, resisting work that doesn't move the needle
  • Quality & scale — systems that hold up in production
  • Speed & predictability — reliable delivery timelines at a good pace
  • Continuous improvement — evolving the team and process to take on more, better
  • AI as a multiplier — leveraging Anthropic (Claude) and modern tooling so the team builds more, better, and faster — taking full advantage of what's possible today

Who We're Looking For

Three pillars:

  1. Deeply technical, especially in AI. You understand how software is built today — with AI as a core lever. You have the judgment to evaluate architecture decisions and move the team toward ways of working that weren't possible before.
  2. Highly strategic. You think two steps ahead: what the area needs operationally, how the org chart should evolve, which frameworks to put in place. You anticipate, not react.
  3. Strong people leader. You develop technical talent, build internal trust, earn external credibility, and make hard calls when needed.

What You Bring

  • Technical judgment across Java/Spring Boot, TypeScript/Next.js/React, Python, PostgreSQL/MariaDB/DynamoDB, Redis/Valkey, full AWS stack, and AI integration (Anthropic Claude, AWS Bedrock). Grafana, Graylog, Metabase, Tableau. You evaluate what to keep, deprecate, or adopt — not encyclopedic knowledge, but clear judgment.
  • Strategic foresight to shape the structure, roles, and ways of working as the area scales.
  • Track record leading technical teams — developing talent, earning trust, building credibility.
  • Native Spanish. Fluent English (written and spoken) and peer-level communication with Product, international profiles, and external vendors. Portuguese is a plus.
  • Ownership mindset. You build while improving the process, without slowing delivery.

What We Value Most

  • Ownership and results-driven thinking
  • Comfort with dynamic change and high-speed growth
  • Strategic outlook: anticipate, don't react
  • International, multicultural mindset
  • Empathy, conviction, and judgment to make decisions

Thank you for reading and we hope to meet soon!
