Your daily

  • Oversee all functions within the Company’s Finance and Accounting Department.
  • Work with management and regional leadership to undertake the function of managing the Company in the best interest of the Company and in accordance with the Company’ purpose an objectives and in good faith.
  • Perform such duties as the shareholders and board of directors may specify and assign or direct in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations.
  • Ensure that the Company implements and follows the principles and the practices of good corporate governance.
  • Ensure effective, appropriate and fast execution, and can act independently; not have interests that can interfere with one’s ability to carry out tasks in a manner independent, and critical to the business.
  • Comply with statutory provisions, articles of association, other internal rules, and external statutory laws and regulations for an Insurance Company.
  • Ensure that the Company acts in the best interests of stakeholders, in particular the interests of policyholders, insured, participants, and /or parties entitled to benefit.
  • Work closely with peers in other departments within the Group’s companies to develop and implement processes and procedures that allow for sustainable growth, profitability and compliance with filed rates and rules.

General Ledger and Reporting

  • Lead Finance & Accounting team members for fast and smooth closing of monthly accounts.
  • Closely monitor and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of management reporting.
  • Ensure and monitor the accuracy and timeliness of OIC submissions, tax filings, etc.
  • Coordinate/liaise with external parties such as External Auditors and Consultants.
  • Implement process improvement/rectification as recommended by internal & external auditors and on an as-needed basis.
  • Formulate and improve regular reporting processes and procedures. Cash Flow Management and Banking
  • Responsible for cash flow management.
  • Improve efficiencies and optimize costs for the business.
  • Monitor Company cash flow and ensure the timely and accurate preparation of the daily cash flow report to ensure adequate funding for daily operations, projects and activities as well as operational needs of Parent Company and other group entities.
  • Maintenance and continual improvements for existing processes, leveraging on technology and competitive practices for all banking matters, including banking facilities and new merchants.
  • Attend to requirements of all banking facilities and ensure prompt renewal for smooth operations.
  • Ensure banking arrangements are properly authorized and backed by agreements/contracts.

Credit Control

  • Create procedures and policies that ensure timely payments while maintaining a high level of customer retention.
  • Reconciling complex accounts that have been escalated from the

AR team

  • Monitoring debtor balances to ensure a reduction in debtors DSO.
  • Ensuring credit and collection policies and procedures are followed within the team.
  • Liaising with customers, as well as internal personnel including the sales team.

Payments

  • Review and approve payments for expenses and ensure accurate GL posting.
  • Formulate and enhance payment policies and procedures. Forecasting & Budgeting
  • Developing financial strategy, including risk minimization plans and opportunity forecasting.
  • Coordinate and consolidate GWP and management expenses for budget purposes.
  • Prepare annually (with potential periodic updates) a full set budget report in accordance with the prescribed template and seek approval from BOD.
  • Coordinate budgeting discussions with relevant departments and prepare forecasts.
  • To prepare tax estimations and make revisions when necessary. Projects, Ad hoc Assignments and Other
  • Attend to ad-hoc assignments that may be required from time-to-time.

Accounting

  • Liaise with external parties on finance related issues.
  • Mentor and develop Finance & Accounting team members.
  • Support the department on performance tracking.
  • Recommend areas for improvement to enhance efficiency and effectiveness - workflow/cost saving/automation.
  • Assist Finance & Accounting function at regional level (as needed).

Your profile

  • Bachelor or Masters level degrees; CPA (Certified Practicing Accountant) or CA (Chartered Accountant) designation would be an advantage.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in a business or finance environment; general insurance experience preferred.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation and negotiation.
  • Familiar and embrace to work under the high pace of startup company.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent analytical, technical skills, planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to balance long-term and short-term implications of individual decisions.
  • Ability to identify and apply multiple solutions to business problems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Thai and English
