Lula is hiring a Business Cash Advance (BCA) Credit Analyst to join our Credit Underwriting team. In this role, you’ll play a pivotal part in optimizing our approval process. Responsibilities:
- Credit Application Processing: Engage with clients and partners to verify financial transactions and business performance, requesting supplementary data when necessary to ensure a complete profile.
- Financial Evaluation: Analyse credit and financial data to determine risk levels and recommend data-driven outcomes for business applicants.
- Risk Documentation (Credit Ticketing): Prepare concise, detailed credit memos and risk notes summarizing the degree of risk associated with specific lending opportunities.
- Mandate Approval: Evaluate and approve credit applications within assigned authority limits to ensure timely funding for clients.
- Issue Management: Coordinate with the Head of Credit Underwriting and Collections to track, escalate, and resolve merchant-related issues effectively.
- Portfolio Optimisation: Collaborate with credit management to enhance decision-making processes, improving both portfolio performance and turnaround times.
- Product & Platform Mastery: Develop deep proficiency in the Lula lending platform to ensure efficient decision-making and optimal use of internal tools.
- Full Lifecycle Awareness: Maintain a solid understanding of the end-to-end credit lifecycle, including the intersection of underwriting and collection processes.
- Strategic Problem Solving: Proactively generate solutions to meet both the expressed and underlying needs of the customer while strictly adhering to credit metrics.
- Dynamic Operations: Manage ad-hoc projects and diverse tasks daily, maintaining high accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
The Experience & Skills We’re Looking For
- Matric certificate (or equivalent) required.
- A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business is advantageous.
- Previous experience in Commercial or SME credit is ideal.
- Exceptional attention to detail while maintaining a fast-paced, efficient workflow.
- Strong numeracy skills to interpret complex financial data and make informed decisions.
- A self-managed individual who takes initiative and thrives in a dynamic, evolving environment.
- Ability to drive change and implement improvements to the underwriting process.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for building stakeholder relationships.
