Verto is a pioneering fintech firm that specialises in providing innovative payment solutions to facilitate secure, seamless, and efficient cross-border transactions. Operating in various emerging markets, we aim to optimise FX treasury management and payment orchestration for small-medium businesses and enterprises alike.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Product Director (reporting to the CPO) with expertise in cross-border payments, emerging markets, and FX treasury management to steer the strategic development and enhancement of our payment solutions. The successful candidate will exhibit a comprehensive understanding of payment ecosystems, currency management, and regulatory frameworks in international contexts, along with a proven track record of team leadership and process optimisation.

Responsibilities:

• Drive the strategic planning, development, and rollout of innovative payment products that meet the unique needs of emerging markets.
• Engage in market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats in the cross-border payments and FX space.

Product Management:

• Oversee the entire product lifecycle from conception to launch, ensuring alignment with customer needs and regulatory compliance.
• Lead the development of product roadmaps and ensure timely delivery of enhancements and new features.
• Monitor product performance, identify areas for improvement, and ensure continuous product optimisation.

Team Management:

• Lead and inspire a multifunctional team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
•  Implement training and development programs to enhance team skill sets and product knowledge.

Operational Excellence:

• Develop and implement efficient processes for product development and management, ensuring optimal resource utilisation.
• Oversee the management of FX treasury, ensuring financial risk mitigation and compliance with global financial regulations.
• Streamline payment orchestration to enhance transaction speed, security, and customer satisfaction.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

• Collaborate with various stakeholders including technology, sales, marketing, operations and customer support to ensure cohesive product development and implementation.
• Engage with external partners, regulators, and customers to gain insights, forge partnerships, and enhance product offerings.

Compliance and Risk Management:

• Ensure that all products comply with international financial regulations and standards.
• Implement robust risk management strategies to mitigate financial and operational risks related to FX and cross-border payments.

Qualifications:

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field; MBA or other relevant postgraduate qualification is preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the payments industry, with a specific focus on cross-border payments and FX treasury.
• Proven experience in product management and leading teams to deliver successful products.
• Demonstrated experience in managing products in emerging markets and understanding the associated challenges and opportunities.

Skills:

• Deep knowledge of international payment systems, regulatory environments, and FX markets.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with an ability to inspire and drive performance.
• Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Robust stakeholder management and communication skills.
