We’re seeking a driven and results-oriented Sales Manager who is excited to tackle the challenge of expanding our footprint in Kenya and East Africa. In this role, you will be expected to achieve key milestones such as driving revenue growth, building a high-performing sales team, and expanding our customer base across the region. You will play a pivotal role in advancing Verto’s mission, leveraging your expertise in B2B sales, payments, and market strategy to drive measurable impact.


In this role you will:

  • Grow Revenue: Achieve measurable revenue growth by acquiring new customers and upselling solutions to existing clients.
  • Expand Customer Base: Drive customer acquisition in Kenya by identifying and targeting key sectors such as trade, logistics, and SMBs.
  • Develop Sales Strategies: Design and execute region-specific sales plans that align with Verto’s goals and market dynamics.
  • Optimise Sales Processes: Implement streamlined processes, ensuring an efficient sales pipeline, accurate forecasting, and consistent deal closure.
  • Foster Relationships: Build strong relationships with customers, partners, and industry stakeholders to drive long-term value.
  • Leverage Data: Use performance metrics and sales analytics to refine strategies and improve team efficiency.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with marketing and product teams to align messaging and deliver tailored solutions to clients.
  • Market Research: Monitor competitor activity and stay informed on industry trends to maintain a competitive edge.


You’ll be responsible for:

  • Driving sales growth and hitting revenue targets within the first 6-12 months.
  • Building and scaling a sales team in Kenya capable of supporting ambitious expansion goals.
  • Developing and managing the sales pipeline, ensuring alignment with company forecasts and objectives.
  • Representing Verto at key industry events, conferences, and forums to build brand awareness and generate leads.
  • Managing customer relationships to maximise retention and lifetime value.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of B2B sales management experience, ideally in payments, fintech, or related industries.
  • Proven track record of achieving revenue targets and scaling sales teams in competitive markets.
  • Strong knowledge of the Kenyan market, including economic trends and key business sectors.
  • Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and coach a team to success.
  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and sales tools for pipeline management.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with a focus on building lasting customer relationships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to leverage data for decision-making.
