About the Financial Controlling team
The Financial Controlling team at Yoco is responsible for safeguarding financial integrity while enabling scale, speed, and confident decision-making. We ensure that Yoco’s financial reporting, controls, and assurance frameworks are robust, accurate, and fit for a fast-growing fintech with an established group structure and increasing reporting complexity.
Our team brings together Financial Reporting, Accounting Operations, and Revenue Assurance, working closely with FP&A, Treasury and Legal. We partner deeply across the business to translate complex products and processes into clear, trusted financial data, while embedding strong financial governance without slowing innovation.
This is a team that values technical excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement. We care about getting the details right while also simplifying processes. If you’re motivated by high standards, meaningful accountability, and the opportunity to help shape how finance supports a purpose-driven, scaling business, the Financial Control team at Yoco offers the chance to make a real and lasting impact.
About the role
As Financial Reporting Lead, you will play a critical role in safeguarding Yoco’s financial integrity. You will own the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of Yoco’s consolidated financial reporting and tax compliance, across multiple entities and currencies.
This role goes beyond producing compliant financial statements. You will be trusted to apply sound judgement, confidently challenge external advisors when needed, and simplify complexity, ensuring that financial information is not only technically correct, but trusted by senior leadership, the Board, investors, regulators, and tax authorities. You’ll work closely with Accounting Operations, Revenue Assurance, FP&A, Treasury, and external auditors to strengthen reporting processes and raise the overall standard of financial reporting across the business.
At Yoco, we value people who master their craft, take ownership, and care deeply about outcomes. If you’re someone who enjoys digging into the details, asking the right questions, and building reporting frameworks that stand up to scrutiny, this role will stretch and reward you.
What you will be doing
Owning the preparation and consolidation of Yoco’s group financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and IFRS compliance across an established, multi-entity structure.
Leading statutory, tax, and audit processes, working closely with internal and external auditors and tax advisors to ensure full compliance while optimising tax structures within regulatory boundaries.
Developing, documenting, and defending accounting position papers for new business ventures, products, transactions, and new or evolving IFRS standards.
Partnering confidently with senior stakeholders such as executive leadership, the Board, investors, and regulators, to clearly explain financial outcomes, judgements, and risk areas.
Continuously improving reporting quality, controls, and efficiency through better processes, documentation, and automation.
About you
You are a qualified CA(SA) with hands-on experience owning consolidated financial reporting in a multi-entity environment
You have strong technical accounting judgement and can confidently interpret and apply IFRS to new business ventures, products, and evolving standards
You bring an exceptional attention to detail, with a strong discipline of self-review, validation checks, and reconciliation, you don’t rely on others to catch errors
You produce clear, well-structured work that shows your thought process, assumptions and conclusions
You build calculations and models that are logical, transparent and sufficiently detailed to support independent review and validation
You have led or played a key role in external audits, statutory reporting, and tax compliance, and are comfortable engaging critically with auditors and tax advisors
You communicate with confidence and clarity when working with senior stakeholders and can explain complex technical matters without losing the essence
