About the role

The SEO Specialist drives Yoco’s organic search performance through consistent, data-informed execution across technical, on-page, off-page, and content initiatives. The role supports broader Growth and Marketing goals by increasing organic visibility and qualified traffic, delivering measurable improvements in rankings, traffic quality, and conversion-path efficiency.

This role owns the day-to-day delivery of SEO work, partnering closely with content, product, marketing and engineering teams to diagnose issues and drive optimisation initiatives guided by data and business priorities. The SEO Specialist operates independently within defined strategies, applying sound judgement and collaborating effectively across teams to ensure reliable and impactful execution.

What you will be doing

1. On-Page Optimisation

  • Conduct keyword research and map keywords to pages based on search intent, product positioning, and industry use cases.

  • Optimise metadata and on-page elements (titles, descriptions, headers, content structure, internal linking) to improve relevance and discoverability.

  • Collaborate with Content and Design teams to ensure new pages follow SEO best practices and align with user intent.

  • Maintain on-page hygiene by updating outdated content, addressing cannibalisation, and improving underperforming pages.

2. Technical SEO

  • Monitor and improve crawlability, indexation, page speed, Core Web Vitals, and overall site health.

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of structured data and schema markup across key templates.

  • Conduct regular technical audits using tools such as Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, Semrush/Ahrefs to identify issues and opportunities.

  • Identify and raise technical issues promptly, working with Product/Engineering to resolve them.

  • Ensure technical foundations support AEO/SGE readiness and align with best-practice guidelines.

3. SEO Content Strategy Support

  • Develop content briefs based on user intent, keyword and topic research.

  • Guide the optimisation of blogs, landing pages, and long-form content.

  • Analyse content performance and recommend content updates, expansions, or consolidations.

  • Ensure content aligns with Yoco’s product messaging, targeted industries, and overall Growth objectives.

4. Performance Analytics & Reporting

  • Track rankings, organic traffic, click-through rates, and conversion path behaviour.

  • Maintain dashboards and share weekly/monthly/quarterly performance insights.

  • Provide recommendations to improve visibility, engagement, and digital experience.

  • Investigate anomalies or traffic drops and propose root-cause solutions.

5. Off-Page SEO & Authority Building

  • Monitor the backlink profile and identify opportunities to strengthen domain authority and relevance.

  • Support ethical link-building through coordinated PR, partnerships, and digital outreach.

  • Identify harmful backlinks and manage disavow processes when required.

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Content teams to execute SEO initiatives effectively.

  • Ensure SEO considerations are integrated into website updates, campaigns, and product releases.

  • Support A/B testing initiatives and contribute SEO insights to broader digital optimisation.

About you

  • 4+ years of hands-on SEO experience.

  • Experience working across both technical and content SEO.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage SEO projects independently.

  • Bonus: familiarity with JavaScript SEO, UX, CRO, or broader performance marketing.

  • Strong proficiency with SEO tools, including GSC, GA4, Semrush/Ahrefs, and Screaming Frog.

  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS fundamentals and a strong understanding of CMS platforms.

  • Ability to interpret crawl logs, technical audits, and on-page diagnostic reports.

  • Understanding of structured data and schema implementation principles.

  • Understanding of AEO/SGE and how on-page structure influences AI-driven search results.

  • Understanding of Core Web Vitals and the ability to interpret performance metrics.

  • Ability to translate SEO issues into clear technical requirements or tickets.

  • Competent in keyword research, content optimisation, and SEO performance reporting.
